Advantages: Zoos enable animals to be kept in a safe environment, where people can see them, even though these people would have little opportunity of seeing the species in the wild. Please note that not everybody can afford to go on safari and that, despite high quality films, many animals are not easy to see in rain forests. Good zoos can be a valuable educational resource and can encourage visitors to be interested in animals and their conservation. Zoos have saved several animals from extinction and good zoos are actively involved in conserving animals in the wild and reintroducing captive animals into their natural environment in the wild. At a good zoo, the animals are given a balanced diet and access to veterinary care. The keepers look at individual animals and find ways to improve their surroundings. Good
