What is the advantages and disadvantages of moving into a ground floor bedroom, with patio doors?
I think it’s mostly positive: 1. + Private entrance that you can use for access to a patio or deck that essentially is an extension of your room that you can use to entertain yourself and/or others though most seasons. +/- People will come knocking on it instead of the front door. You will need a good latch on the screen and a set of blinds with a set of drapes to ward off the intrusion of light and/or prying eyes. But if you don’t want to disturb the rest of the house, it’s great. 2 +/- More command over the domain. If you want to cash it in for the night or restrict traffic flow, it’s your say so. Your space isn’t Grand Central Station and to that end you will have to assert yourself and take responsibility of securing the patio door as well as maybe putting a key lock on the bedroom door.
