What is the advantage of using an interface over a P/2 DA2 Plus?
An interface provides many features that a P/2 DA2 Plus does not. Extron interfaces are designed to enhance the computer video signals with level and peaking adjustments that compensate for the loss of brightness and sharpness (fine detail). An interface also has the ability to change the outgoing sync signals as well as convert sync polarities and remove serration pulses. Additionally, an interface can utilize Advanced Digital Sync Processing (ADSP™ to help ensure a stable image on digital displays while allowing the image to be horizontally and vertically shifted. Lastly, interfaces provide ID bit termination to ensure video output from various computers and laptops, and many accept PC audio and output an unbalanced or balanced audio out. (Note: The P/2 DA2 MT and P/2 DA2 WM have peaking and level, audio and ID bit termination).
