A. One of our recent clients reported that before coming to us he had met with an architect and found out that it was going to cost $3.00 per square foot for the design and plans plus $3.00 per square foot for integration of the plans during construction. If you use ABJ’s in-house Designer the cost is $1.50 per square foot for the design and plans and then the integration of the plans during construction takes place seamlessly (since it’s all in-house) at no additional cost. The depth and scope of the project development in our ‘Design & Build’ scenario is typically more involved than what would normally be done by a third-party design-only person. This is especially true on lake lots where a septic system will be required since we normally include the acquisition of the septic system Improvements Permit as an integral part of the design process.
