What is the advantage of “Mailing Lists” if I can use the Distribution List feature from the Power Forwarding Package?
Mailing Lists are typically meant to be used as special discussion forums, and provide the power and flexibility for subscribers to subscribe, unsubscribe and temporarily disable messages, for subscribers to receive message distribution one at a time or as periodic digests, for subscribers to have either public or private access to list archives, for subscribers to have password protected access to the web-based administration for their own customization; for administrators to moderate or monitor traffic to the list, for administrators to customize or personalize list behavior, and even provides support for multiple languages. There are many other additional features, and all of it via full access to a complete web-based administration interface. The Distribution List feature, on the other hand, is very limited, allows for up to only 50 recipients, does not allow for any sort of special control or management, and does not provide any special user/subscriber features.
