What is the admission process?
Complete the online application for admission and request all transcripts from previously attended colleges be sent directly to the Belhaven College Memphis Campus. If you have not attended college before, request an official high school transcript. Generally, people give us a call to let us know that they are considering the program, learn more about what we offer and clarify any outstanding questions. o Early on we will discuss your insurance and other financial possibilities. We will check insurance coverage so we can determine your actual benefits and proceed with the best course of action. o It’s important for us to obtain a medical clearance from your current physician. This clearance would need to include results from a current EKG and necessary blood work. A copy of procedures is listed under “admissions” on this website. These procedures must be completed within 2 weeks prior to your admission. o One of our program coordinators will help you establish a start date for beginning Canopy Cove. A phone interview is part of our admission process. During this phone conversation, we gather information from you about your history and your eating disorder.
After an Application for Admission is completed on behalf of a potential resident, and if an opening exists that is appropriate for your family member, a thorough evaluation process is begun. If no suitable opening is available, a preliminary evaluation is completed and your family member’s application is kept on file. You are then notified when an appropriate opening becomes available. When notified of an opening, you will be encouraged to bring your family member to New England Village for a visit. Grandparents, siblings or others who are closely associated with your family member are also encouraged to visit. Throughout the admissions process you will be able to meet with the staff to discuss any issues regarding your family member’s move to New England Village. A two to three day permissions visit is also suggested. This will give your family member the opportunity to participate in the daily routine of the house, to take part in the work program, and to enjoy recreational activiti
