What is THE ADG CODE ?
The Australian Code for the Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road and Rail (ADG Code) and its associated regulations sets out the legal technical requirements for transporting dangerous goods by road and rail within Australia and its territories including the mandatory requirements for packaging and package testing. It is based on the UN Recommendations for the Transport of Dangerous Goods , an international guideline for safe transport of dangerous goods in a revised and sometimes more restrictive form, has been adopted by all states and territories in order to enact uniform national statutory requirements for dangerous goods transport. The current 6th edition of The ADG Code has been prepared by the National Road Transport Commission (NRTC) in conjunction with the Advisory Committee on the Transport of Dangerous Goods (ACTDG) and the Federal Office of Road Safety. It has been approved by the Ministerial Council for Road Transport and endorsed by the Australian Transport Council.
