What is the actual name of London borough – Haringey or Haringay?

Yup – Haringey is the borough. According to the BC Haringey is an older spelling of Haringay. But as is usual in the UK education system, late 60’s pupils in the borough were being taught that Haingey should rhyme with Finchley. Gotta grin.
