What is the ACE wrap for and how long do I need to use it?
For breast implant patients: The ACE wrap is used to help settle the implants into a natural position. The ACE wrap should be low in the back and high in the front so that it sits on the upper slope of the breasts. Make sure it is not bunched up in the armpit areas (you may need to readjust it periodically). The ACE wrap does not need to be very tight- even gentle pressure over time is helpful, and if it is too tight, it will cause indentations in your skin. The ACE wrap should be worn as much as possible for the first week, and after that it may be worn at home and at night for another week. For gynecomastia patients: The ACE wrap is used to compress the surgical area, and should be worn for 4-6 weeks. (You may need to buy new ACE wraps during this time as the old ones will stretch out).
