What is the accommodation at Van Mildert like?
There is room for over 500 students in college and about 150 ensuite rooms. There are no shared rooms in college, and at the very least students get a basin in their room if they don’t have an ensuite room. All rooms have high-speed internet and the quality of accommodation is generally very good. Deerness and Tunstall blocks are almost brand new, and Tyne, Tees and Middleton blocks have just been refurbished. Derwent and Wear are older but still comfortable, and are scheduled for refurbishment over the next couple of years.First years are guaranteed places in college and those in the other years can apply to live in. Most – if not all – final year students who want to live in college are offered a room in their final year. All accommodation is fully catered and all bills are included in termly ‘battels’, or college bills.There are a good number of spacious disabled rooms and access to the college facilities is good; all the college is disabled-accessible with the exception of some are
