What is the AccessGrid?
The Access Grid (AG) is an international video teleconferencing system that operates over the Internet. It provides for real-time interaction between users at two or more sites. Originally developed at the Argonne National Laboratory, it can be used for everything from formal large-scale distributed meetings, to seminars and class lectures, to small informal meetings between two sites. The AG consists of special designed spaces called Access Grid Nodes, rooms which contain the high-end video and audio hardware needed to allow for a realistic, compelling user experience.
