The US Small Business Administration (SBA) administers the 8(a) Business Development program, named after section 8(a) of the Small Business Act. This program provides an invaluable opportunity for disadvantaged small businesses. 8(a) Certified companies are eligible for among other things, sole source government business, the real value of this program. This means that you can get a contract directly from a government buyer, rather than going through the long, drawn out process of competitive bids. These contracts can be up to $5,000,000 each, depending on the industry that the certified company is in. There are also 8(a) set-aside contracts where certified businesses compete against each other, and there is no limitation to how large these contracts can be. Please call or email us to determine if you meet the qualifications for certification.
