What is the 2011 IIHF World Junior Championships?
The 2011 IIHF World Junior Championship is an annual event organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation for national under-20 ice hockey teams from around the world. This is only the 4th ever World Junior Championship to be played in the US and 1st ever to be played in Buffalo. Currently 24 players in the Buffalo Sabres organization participated in the World Juniors including: Maxim Afinogenov (RUS), Tim Connolly (USA), Jochen Hecht (GER), Toni Lydman (FIN), Adam Mair (CAN), Teppo Numminen (FIN), Daniel Paille (CAN), Derek Roy (CAN), Andrej Sekera (SK), Jaroslav Spacek (CZ) Drew Stafford (USA), Henrik Tallinder (SWE), and Thomas Vanek (AU).
