On 9 September 2007, APEC Leaders agreed to Australia convening a ministerial meeting on structural reform in 2008. This is the first ministerial meeting, convened by APEC, wholly dedicated to structural reform. The meeting will bring together relevant ministers from the 21 APEC member economies and invitations will be extended to other international financial institutions. The Australian Government will host the ministerial meeting on 3-5 August 2008 in Melbourne, Australia. The Treasurer will chair the meeting. The meeting will take place on 4-5 August, with a welcome function on the evening of 3 August.
