Pros: Dry, not bad tasting, food-friendly acid, cheap. Cons: Underextracted and a little alcoholic. The Bottom Line: Mateus may be a cheap, old-fashioned wine, but it’s surprisingly passable. Too alcoholic, and underextracted for a light rosé, blindfolded I’d mistake it for a flawed vinho verde.
