What is that tapping in my car engine?

0

The most common cause of a tapping sound in an automotive engine is from a valve that is out of adjustment. Most modern cars have hydraulic valve lifters, and one is probably “sticking”. Get a chemical valve cleaner at an auto parts store, or possibly even in the auto stuff section of your favorite grocery store, and run that in your engine for a while. That will probably solve your problem, but if it doesn’t, or the tapping gets worst, then have a mechanic you trust check it out.
