What is Temporary Lodging Allowance (TLA)?
TLA is the allowance that offsets the higher costs of staying in a hotel and eating out daily. You can check the TLA rates on http://www.defensetravel.dod.mil/perdiem/perdiemrates.html; for COUNTRY/STATE, look for “Korea.” In the list that pops up, look for “Camp Humphreys.” Due to the immediate availability for off-post housing, you will be authorized 10 days TLA. If your request an extension, you must place an official request through the Housing Office; you MUST turnin the “Housing Search List” form showing that you have aggressively house-hunted but there were no available housing off-post. Please be aware that TLA extensions will not be considered for approval without the “Housing Search List” form.
