What is tempered and obscured glass?
Tempered glass is a type of safety glass made of heat strengthened glass. If the glass is ever broken it will simply crystallize into very small particles, reducing the risk of personal injury or property damage from falling shards of glass. Some states or localities may require tempered glass for windows that are close to the floor. An upcharge must be added for windows that require tempered glass.
