Telecommunication is basically a broad term for different types of media. It’s defined as the transmission of signals for the purpose of communication, so telecommunication includes television, radio, telephone, and computers. Broadcasting is practically the same thing as telecommunication, but most people associate it with television and radio, because the audience is usually the general public. I’m not sure if you’re asking this question because you’re interested in majoring in this field or not, but it’s typically associated with those who want to pursue careers in television (either in front of or behind the camera) and radio, and in some cases those in undergrad who hope to become telecommunication lawyers (dealing with copyright laws, ethics in the media, etc).
