The OZONE layer deflects cosmic rays around the earth and it is being depleted by the same green house gases involved in global warming, in fact, the Ozone problem was the spear point of global warming issues

The ozone layer is a region within the stratosphere that contains over 90% of the earth’s ozone (O3). This layer naturally fluctuates but some evidence indicates that some man made chemicals may also diminish the ozone as well.
