What is Taxation without Representation?
It essentially means that people are being taxed without a government representative, or any representative for that matter, giving them a say in front of the ruling party or leaders. If you’re American, it would be like having no senators or sitting members of the house from your state/county/town to state your case in front of the federal government (not that they really do) and meanwhile the government taxes you however they see fit, simply because they can, with your people having no recourse as you lack representation in government. Imagine a tax collector walking to each house, saying “Hi, we’re collecting $XXX in taxes today. You don’t have a say in how much, or what we do with it, you just have to give it to us”.
