What is taken from heraldry?
Heraldry is a movement that emerged coincidentally with the appearance of armors in medieval times. The protective covering for the body using metal plates brought about that warriors where not able to distinguish between friend and foe on the battlefields. This very disadvantageous effect was overcome by using symbols and colors attached to the armors – the birth of coat of arms . To reflect the social rank of a person or family heraldry established a strict and very precise system of symbols and colors and their combinations to reflect the bearers strengths and attitude. At Cubidor University Switzerland we thought that a heraldic design approach is appropriate to clearly distinguish ourselves from other universities and to contrast our extremely modern approach in methodology and technology with a classic and completely non technical design.
