Christy C., Torrance, CA Tahini is a thick paste of ground raw sesame seeds and is used in Middle Eastern cooking. There is not substitute. However if you can’t find it, then try to make small batches of it at home by blending raw sesame seeds with a neutral flavored vegetable oil.
