The Sunshine Cup is a new competition developed in 2008 with coordination between the South Florida Tennis club and Miami Mavericks. Future plans provide for the inclusion of the remaining Florida GLTA clubs. The Sunshine Cup is a team competition between SFTC and Miami. Players with a “B” ranking or lower can qualify for the Sunshine Cup Team. In this first edition, 12 players from Fort Lauderdale and Miami will compete in singles and doubles. The format is very similar to the Florida Cup. The first day of play (Saturday) will consist of singles play and the second day of play will consist of doubles competition. Players will compete in both singles and doubles. SFTC membership is required to participate on the Sunshine Cup Team.
