What is “sufficient combustion air?

With the exception of direct vents, all gas appliances must have enough air to support combustion. Toward that end, the appliances must be installed to an “unconfined space.” This is an area of a minimun 50 cubic feet, or more, per 1000 Btus for all the gas appliances to be installed to that area. See your Monessen dealer when sizing your home for a new gas appliance.
