What is stopping us from solving most problems in America such as poverty, unemployment and housing?
I am not sure if these can be solved, especially when living in a free society. Maybe not in an unfree society. I don’t recall reading about housing problems in the USSR. But I do remember reading about reading about married couples living with one of their parents until they could afford to buy or rent a place to live. Unemployment in the USSR was not a problem as far as I know. They had jobs created for people. The work may not have needed to be done or it was just busy work with no outcome in mind. Unemployment is a problem in socialist areas of Europe & socialist nations elsewhere. Poverty can be caused by lack of economic activity or it can be brought about by unwise spending. Poverty related to unemployment or underemployment is difficult to cure. 40 years & Billions of dollars have been spent fighting the War on Poverty & problems remain. What is living in poverty?
