What is Stainless Titanium and Tungsten?
Answer Stainless Steel is an alloy of Steel and Chromium. Steel by itself would rust but with addition of Chromium you get the strength of Steel with the bright corrosion resistant properties of the Chromium. We are all familiar with Stainless Steel since it is used for the manufacture of cutlery, watches and surgical instruments. Titanium is a pure metal although it is alloyed with other metals to alter its characteristics slightly. Its most important properties are that of strength and lightness which are used extensively in the aerospace industry. Tungsten Carbide rings are made in a sintering process at between 1,300 to 1,500C. The material was first developed to create super hard, industrial cutting tools. It is an unbelievably hard metal and will only mark in contact with a diamond. It is heavier than Titanium and Steel.
