Acid stain concrete means concrete that has been treated with an acid or chemical stain. The term may also apply to overlays, microtops, self levelers atc. Acid Stains react with most cementitious mixes, the strength of the reaction will depend on the individual chemistry of the products, acid stains do not have any pigments, the reaction is purely chemical. Many factors affect the reaction, porosity, cleanliness, chemistry, and cement content. Acid stain concrete has become very popular in the last few years because it provides a soft earthtone marbleized look that enhances concrete and fits in with just about any decor style. Acid Stain concrete is also easy to maintain and last for a long time. Some of the limitation on acid staining concrete are the color selection and how it takes to the concrete itself.
