What is St. Johns Social Club/Ukrainian Day/Chicken BBQ?
-The Club, as it is known, is a members-only bar in the church hall. Chris and Josh used to go in there after Ukrainian Dancing practice, drink sodas, play pool and watch television. Ukrainian Day is the yearly festival St. John’s puts on. There are Ukrainian Dancing performances, a concert, food (with Willy making hot dogs, hamgburgers and Speides on a grill outside) and a band at night. Chicken BBQ is put on by The Club, but is much small in magnitude. A football game used to occur when grown men like Nicky Tarcha used to tackle the boys in a two-hand touch game.
