Squirrel Systems, as a payment applications vendor, is responsible for creating products that store, transmit, and process cardholder data as part of authorization in compliance with the PCI-DSS. Squirrel Systems develops its products as per the PCI PA-DSS, which are then validated by the PCI-SSC as PA-DSS certified. Squirrel Systems is not required by state or federal law to develop its products to the PCI- DSS; however, Merchants who would like to be PCI-DSS compliant should use a PCI PA-DSS validated version of our Point of Sale products. While it is not our responsibility to ensure that our customers are PCI-DSS compliant, Squirrel Systems has issued written correspondences informing them of the importance of PCI-DSS compliance and the use of a PCI-PA-DSS certified payment applications.
