Squint is a misalignment of the two eyes. This means both the eyes do not look in the same direction. Squint can be constant or may appear only for some time. It is quite common condition among children. It may also occur in adults. What is the reason for squint eye? Squint can be because of weakness of muscle, problems inside the eye like cataract or because the child may need to wear glasses. How does squint affect vision? The eyes are like camera. They receive light from objects, e.g., an apple and send the message to the brain. The brain is like a computer. It receives the messages, assembles it correctly and interprets the light as an apple. As both the eyes see the same object, the same message is sent to the brain. In a squint eye- one eye will be straight and the other may be turned inwards or outwards.
