What is Spyware/Adware and how does it hurt my computer?
Spyware are programs that monitor different things you do on your computer. i.e. Some of the Spyware devices will monitor your keystrokes when entering passwords for your online banking, or email etc,. Whereas, Adware are links to websites, mostly pornography sites and these links embed themselves into your computer. They access the Internet when you are connected to update themselves. Most often, the result of these links are Pop-up windows for Pornography, buying different products and services, changing you Home page to another, possibly Pornography or a search site that does not search what you want. All this activity slows down your computer and may get to the point where you cannot get to any websites, except where the links send you because the links will Re-Direct you to where it is programmed to send you.
