What is Sports Management & Coaching Studies?
The course includes a practical introduction to sports management within sporting organizations. The complexities of sports businesses are taught so that students graduate having had the opportunity to develop the professional skills necessary for employment in the coaching sector. General topics covered include contemporary issues in sport and leisure, government policy, marketing and business management skills. There is a particular focus on coaching in a multi-sport environment. The curriculum is enhanced through: • coaching certification opportunities • The Institute of Sport, Parks and Leisure (ISPaL) membership • guest lectures from sport industry professionals • employability skills gained through the School of Sport, Leisure and Travel’s network of partnerships • opportunity to study abroad • the use of a state-of-the-art BASES accredited performance laboratory and gymnasium • access to season tickets to London Wasps and Wycombe Wanderers FC (subject to availability) • voluntee
