What is Splenomegaly?
Splenomegaly is an abnormal enlargement of the spleen. This causes the spleen to not work properly at filtering and maintaining a normal balance of red and white blood cells. Splenomegaly may be an indicator of bacterial infection, virus, and liver disease. Symptoms include being unable to eat a large meal, constant hiccups, or pain in the upper left side of the abdomen.
