What is special about Marina dispensing tanks?
A. Marina facility tanks that will be used to pipe fuel to piers for dispensing into boats and watercraft are further regulated beyond regular vehicular dispensing tanks because of their close proximity to waterways and the potential for high water/flotation problems. Marina dispensing tanks are required to be provided with double-walled piping with flexible fittings. Furthermore, emergency and manual shutoff means are required. Dispensing areas must be provided with spill containment means. Dispensing at marinas must be supervised by an attendant. (Self-service is prohibited). The application must indicate that the tank is to be installed above the high-water mark for the area, or indicate a method of anchoring to prevent tank flotation.
