It is a language which evolved from Latin. French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish are Latin languages. There are a lot of similarities within Latin and these languages such as sentence structure and core words.

It’s like Mexican Spanish only what is spoken in Spain. The words are fairly similar but there are a lot of differences. My grandfather speaks Sicilian and I know Spanish a bit but I can’t understand him.
