What is South Africa Tourism doing to market the country to Nigerians?
We do conduct research in the market and we are aware that Nigerian visitors go to two main provinces, which are Gauteng and Western Cape. We do realise that these two provinces have somehow positioned themselves in this market and their offerings have been communicated effectively in the market. There are a number of things we are doing in promoting the less visited provinces, including hosting trade partners in these provinces. We also take our provincial partners to Nigeria, to showcase their products during the in-country trade workshops. The media is also taken on familiarisation trips and exposing them to different experiences in the less visited provinces. We do this to give the less visited provinces an opportunity to be publicised in the Nigerian market. Nigerians travel more to Europe, America and Dubai, what is South Africa doing to change this? In the next two years there are two main things we intend doing: The first is to solidify our relationship with our trade partners
