What is some symbolism in the novel Twilight?

0

Symbolism is way beyond Meyer’s ability. The one bit of symbolism she tries to use doesn’t work – the apple on the cover is supposed to represent the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil from the Bible, because Meyer says that when Bella starts to date Edward, she gains a working knowledge of good and evil. Only she doesn’t, so that fails. It’s also supposed to be the forbidden fruit, which in no way ties into the novel – their relationship is not forbidden and far from the consequences of it being negative, everything works out unbelievably perfectly for them.
