What is SolidWorks ScanTo3D?
ScanTo3D is a utility for capturing physical objects (via a scanner) and representing those objects inside of SolidWorks that can then be referenced for building a solid model. ScanTo3D significantly reduces the time and resources to build complex CAD models. Unlike using calipers or outsourcing, ScanTo3D quickly creates 3D mesh that in which 2D and 3D sketches can be built on top of or you can choose to use ScanTo3D’s Surfacing Wizard to automatically extract surfaces or a solid model.
