Software Assurance is a simpler way of obtaining the latest and most innovative Microsoft products, replacing the complexity of one-time upgrades (VUP – Version Upgrade; PUP – Product Upgrade; CUP – Competitive Upgrade; LUP – Language Upgrade) and Upgrade Advantage (UA).

SA is similar to a maintenance program for your license. It is an fee that you can opt to purchase in addition to the license fee and is valid only for the current UH contract period, ending on 11/30/2008. If any new versions is released during this time period, you are entitled to this version of the license automatically (SA does not cover CDs/DVDs). SA is prorated on an annual basis; prices change at the beginning of every December. If you are participating in SA, before the end of the contract, you will have the option of purchasing SA for the next 3 years to continue coverage of your license(s) or you can terminate your SA. If you would like to request pricing or inquire whether SA is recommended for your purchase, please call the Site License Administrator at (808) 956-5783.
