What is socialism and how will Obama change America, if elected president?
Socialism- what is it? Very broad question with many different answers. Socialist Democracies in western Europe have existed for over a century- what these countries do is provide a ‘social safety net’ for all its citizens- meaning there is a minimum they allow you to survive on- and the Government guarantees this. Health care is free or very low coast- and despite what many say in the USA is of excellent quality. Education is also free at the higher level. Obama is really trying to bring the nation back to the center- from being ultra right for decades. He is trying to level the playing field for all Americans- instead of the rich and lucky benefiting from policies that hurt the poor and middle class. With an aging population that will demand more services in the future – it seems the the ‘progressive views’ of Obama will likely take root and hold true for the coming decades. The USA is likely to see more forms of socialism in the future- and more regulation of corporations.
