What is Social Work Licensure and Certification?

0

In May of 1991, the State of NJ passed legislation requiring social workers to be certified or licensed in order to protect the public. The law is administered by the Board of Social Work Examiners (BSWE), whose members are appointed by the Governor. The BSWE is under the Division of Consumer Affairs, whose primary responsibility is to protect the public from fraud, deceit and misrepresentation in the sale of goods and services.
