What is so special about the Nursing Program at the University of Akron?
The purpose of the program is to prepare a beginning level professional nurse who can assume employment as a staff nurse in a hospital, health department, visiting nurse service, skilled nursing facility or the like. In order to provide the type of care needed, graduates of the program are taught to utilize knowledge from natural, social, behavioral and nursing sciences when determining what care is needed, providing that care, and evaluating its effectiveness.
