What is so good about Final fantasy VII?
I would say that there are a number of reasons why it’s so well-loved. 1: Characters. Not only did you get a whole cast of characters, but they were all very different and had their own personalities. Everyone has at least one character they identify with. Even though the graphics now look very poor, the depth of the characters made them popular and – even now – girls would say that Cloud or Sephiroth are cool guys and guys would say that Tifa is a cool girl. These toy-like characters really where the first great computer character pin-ups. 2: The Story. It’s complicated. It’s deep. There’s even a love triangle. It mixed equal measures of romantic tension, conspiracy theory, action, pathos, comedy, good versus evil and good old Japanese new-age hokum and turned them all into a very satisfying mix.
