SLANT 45 is an acronym for the Host Committee’s Service Learning Adventures in North Texas program designed by Dallas-based Big Thought that will operate throughout 2010. The program will involve 20,000 North Texas elementary school children who will perform more than 45,000 hours of community service projects throughout the region. SLANT 45’s Honorary Chairs are the 43rd President of the United States, the Honorable George W. Bush and Mrs. Laura Bush. The program’s Chair is former Dallas Cowboys’ great, Daryl Johnston.
