What is “slamming?
Slamming is the term used to describe the changing of your long distance carrier to another provider without your knowledge or permission. In order to prevent your service from being slammed, simply contact Integra Customer Care and ask for a long distance freeze. A long distance freeze indicates that no carrier changes can be made unless you authorize the change either by phone or in writing. Slamming describes the occurrence of your long-distance company or local service provider being illegally changed by a competing long-distance company or local service provider without your knowledge or permission. We can help you protect yourself or give you information on what to do if you suspect youve been slammed.
Slamming is the unauthorized conversion of a customer’s long-distance phone service from their current long distance service provider to a new long-distance provider. The slamming of a customer to Excel Canada’s long-distance service is prohibited by Excel Canada’s Policies and Procedures as set forth in every Excel Canada Independent Representative’s Application and Agreement, and will result in the immediate termination of the IR business relationship and forfeiture of all commissions and other payments. Slamming is contrary to law and may constitute fraud. Excel Canada may take legal action against such IR to recover actual and consequential damages, costs, legal fees, and other expenses and relief. Excel Canada will refer IRs who engage in slamming to the appropriate regulatory and/or governmental agencies.
