What is SIRIUS Traffic?
A. SIRIUS Traffic provides traffic data to vehicles over its nationwide satellite radio network. Two types of traffic information are included: Continuously updated traffic flow — Continuously updated traffic speed on each road segment is shown on the navigation map, usually as color-coded roadways. For example, a green colored roadway may represent free-flow speed; a yellow colored roadway may mean moderate congestion; a red colored roadway may represent heavy congestion. Today, the continuously updated flow information is available for over 100 markets across the U.S. and Canada. Continuously updated traffic incidents This includes updated traffic information on accidents, road construction, road closings and other traffic-related incidents. This information is usually displayed on the navigation map with an icon at the location of the incident. In most cases, detailed information about the traffic incident is also available.
