What is Sign Communication Proficiency Interview (SCPI)?
It is a sign language proficiency assessment interview that documents the level of proficiency or how well the individual can function using ASL/sign language to communicate his/her thoughts, ideas, and opinions in a face-to-face conversation with a superior level sign communicator. The SLPI interview assessment has three parts to the entire process, the interview process, rating process and reporting process. Results of the SLPI interview are shown as a specific rating level which is a criterion referenced (based on predetermined standards) that reflects the specific level of functioning.
