What is Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum?
Its a hands-on, interactive experience for children and families, which focuses on the sciences, mathematics, humanities and the arts. There are 14 themed areas to discover and learn. In the Simple Machines area, kids experience how pulleys and conveyer belts work while pretending they are harvesting apples. In the Raceway room, kids learn about physics while racing golf balls over ramps and through loops. The Museums motto is To touch is to explore, to explore is to discover, and to discover is to learn. What was the most unexpected surprise? The Native American longhouse exhibit offers an intimate feeling of history where kids can pretend to harvest corn and have campfires. The live snake and climbing wall were also pretty cool. What are additional highlights? The OK team was made up of two 3-year-old boys, a 5-year-old boy and a 6-year-old boy.
