What is Sheet Metal Roofing?
Every structure needs a roof, but a roof is more than just a top for a finished building. A roof is actually a system designed to do the following tasks: • Direct rainwater to gutters and downspouts • Keep heated and cooled air inside structures • Support rooftop machinery (for example, vents, air conditioning units) • Withstand most weather conditions, including wind and hail In this field, you will work outdoors, on commercial roofing systems. In your classroom work and on-the-job training, you will focus on methods and equipment designed to keep you safe.
